Ever wonder why your dog loves the toys it does? The answer may lie in the eye of the beholder – quite literally.

Enter TikTok’s latest pet trend – a filter purporting to let us see the world through the eyes of our pups.

In pursuit of determining their pooch’s favorite toys, dog owners have flocked to TikTok’s “Dog Vision” filter, one that promises to give us humans a look at how our favorite furry friends see the world, in all of its blue, yellow and gray glory.

“I finally understand why my dog's favorite ball is the blue one,” wrote dog influencer Mavandmel.

Meanwhile, others have headed to the toy store with the filter in tow, using the jarring POV while shopping in an attempt to nab their pets’ new favorite toy.

“I’m only buying blue toys from now on ever since I found out her world looks like this,” avowed Witchtok influencer @im.muddyy while handing their dog a cerulean football.

Yet this trend isn’t merely a guerrilla (or should we say doggy?) marketing campaign for Big Blue And Yellow Dog ToysTM – the filter actually appears to be based on actual research surrounding how dogs view the world.

“The most popular colors for dog toys today are red or orange despite the fact that these colors are difficult for dogs to see,” the American Kennel Club explained in a post outlining how dogs see color.

As these colors “may be difficult for the dog to see compared to the grass,” they explained, your best bet is to opt for dog toys prominently featuring blue and yellow hues.

“Dogs are able to distinguish yellow and blue from green, which may explain why they prefer blue and yellow toys over toys of different colors,” they elaborated.

TikTok: It may be rotting our brains but at least our pets are happy!
